Grandpa, I look at your picture with a tear in my eye, Wishing I never had to say goodbye. The memories we have shared for years, Help to dry the many tears. We always had the strangest pets like chickens, bees and swimming cows. We didn’t know how to swim or canoe, but you made sure we learned how. You and Charlie taught me how to water ski, And you always called me Sandra Lee Magee. Then Doug would always add, “the monkey”. Many times we would come to visit, camp and swim, And then one day you took me in. I have truly been blessed with many years with you and Grandma, Having sleep overs, plucking chickens and painting the veranda.
