The Dodds Family (Dreamalong Collies)

We were so very shocked and saddened to hear of Wendy's passing. Wendy and I have been friends for more than 25 years, and without her help and mentoring, I don't think that "Dreamalong Collies" would ever have come to fruition. Our foundation male and female were both "Freeheelen" born, and over the years we bred to each others dogs several times. Wendy introduced me to all the 'fun' Collie stuff - herding, carting, Temperament Tests, obedience demonstrations, Canine Good Citizen Tests, nursing home visits, school demos - a whole variety of wonderful things to do with our Collies!! When a group of us decided to start the Ontario Working Collie Association, Wendy was the driving force behind almost all of our activities. Without her the club would never have made it through our first event! She kept all of us: organized, mostly on time, and smiling - no matter the weather! She kept all the human 'offspring' we dragged along to our Activity weekends busy with jobs that were fun, but also challenging too. Sadly, as they all started getting into the teen years, most of them no longer had time for doggy things, and we lost our main source of free labour... Wendy's love of our beautiful Collies was apparent in all that she did, and she shared that love along with her extensive knowledge of the breed with any newcomer who was interested. She was a wonderful mentor, a special friend, and I will never forget all the great times we shared over the years. She always had a ready smile, a helping hand for those who needed it, and a wicked sense of humour! She has been especially kind over the last 4 or 5 years to my youngest daughter Meaganne, and they have become very close. They shared a great love of their dogs, as well as their artwork. Wendy encouraged Meaganne to keep drawing and painting - to stretch her limits and reach her goals. To Robert, and her sister Pat (as well as the rest of the family) we offer our deepest, heartfelt condolences. We have been so blessed to have Wendy in our life, and will miss her greatly. I know she was greeted by all the Freeheelen and Dreamalong crew who have already made their own journey across The Rainbow Bridge ahead of us. They will keep her safe and surrounded by love forever. With love, Kathy, Mike, and Meaganne Dodds Dreamalong Collies
