Goodbye Wendy.....

My name is Karen; I was also a friend and great admirer of Wendy Lynne Jackson. I don't log onto fb often, and Wendy and I would usually communicate with email forwards. I only found out on fb yesterday she has died... I too am shocked, deeply saddened, and offer my sincere condolences to all her family and friends. I met Wendy 15 years ago seeking help for my pup with behavioural problems. He had been attacked by another dog and had fear aggression. Before meeting Wendy I sought help from many places and "trainers"; they helped a little but the dog was not making much progress. Enter into our lives trainer extraordinaire, Wendy Jackson. When we first spoke on the phone, she warmly and calmly invited me to bring my dog to her place and get exposure to her Collies. I expressed concern, "I'm afraid my dog might attack your dogs", to which Wendy replied, "Oh if he goes for them they're fast enough to get out of the way", then laughed her adorable giggle. That was the beginning of our friendship. I grew to love Wendy as anyone who ever met her did, my dog loved her as they all did too, and I learned so very much from this amazing woman re all things dogs, and witnessed a true example by how she lived her life as to what a completely giving, caring and unselfish human being was. Wendy knew a lot about a lot of things, yet she was never proud or conceited. She was always willing to share her knowledge and took sincere joy in seeing someone accomplish something by applying her wisdom or experience. I cannot express my joy and gratitude with her immense help as my dog was rehabilitated, and was so very touched by her own condolences when I had to say goodbye to him this year. Her name is always mentioned and she will be forever remembered when so many of we dog lovers share our stories about our beloved pets. The dog world, especially the Collie world, has lost an amazing advocate and champion, and the human world has lost a wonderful lady. As others have said here, I can smile thinking of her own Adam, Brenda, Corey, Minnie and all her Collies bounding towards their beloved Wendy with utter joy she finally arrived, and to walk with her across rainbow bridge......no longer any pain for any of them. I will miss you Wendy. Logan and I thank you - for everything. Love, Karen
