The Juras and Cadent Collies

Wendy has been a wonderful friend for over 25 years. We met at some long forgotten dog show where she was, as always, the first and friendliest greeter of all newcomers at any collie event. As one of the founding members (and driving force) of The Ontario Working Collie Assoc she generously shared her love of all things collie with everyone. Over the last few days as we have reflected on all she meant to us, we haven't had to look farther than our beloved Neela to see the love and generousity of a dear friend. 6 years ago, after suffering another tragic loss here, Wendy called and said "you and the girls need a puppy - come and pick one!" The puppies that Wendy had were 6 weeks old and I had no desire (and no funds) at that time for a puppy. For two weeks Wendy called almost daily to ask when we were coming to pick our puppy. She finally wore me down and the girls were gifted "Freeheelen Bad Girl at Cadent CD,CGN" to help to sooth our wounded hearts. Neela is the girl who got me back into the obedience ring and is now looking after my new granddaughter and indoctrinating my son-in-law in the specialness of sharing life with a collie.Wendy had many friends who are going to miss her presence in our daily lives. Wendy - as you cross the rainbow bridge with the rest of our collie families (2 and 4 footed) know that you live on in our hearts. Robert and Pat - God be with you now, and always, 'til you meet again.
